A billion or more people, even those who don’t actually understand basic statistics, realize we have a deadly climate crisis. It’s not lack of understanding that’s the problem. People are (sensibly) fearful and anxious and despairing.

They see that protests and voting haven’t worked. Leaders in business and government continue to EXPAND the use of fossil fuels and INCREASE CO2 emissions. The promises and “actions” like the clown show in Dubai have never made the slightest improvement in our situation. (Of course, a slight improvement would be meaningless—like putting a teaspoon of water on a raging wildfire.) This is the TWENTY-EIGHTH clown show and it’s a tribute to our collective impotence that we even pay attention to those clowns—still.

The point is, more than a billion of us KNOW that leaders and decision makers and policy makers have failed catastrophically to adequately address the climate crisis. People are doing nothing because they feel powerless and don’t know what to do.

There is some sense to that. Leaders are completely unresponsive.

But there IS a way. It’s the way pioneered by Gandhi and King. It’s the power that empowered “powerless” people to get their way over the opposition of the British Empire and racist politicians in the American South.

Ordinary people, the sane people who love their children and respect Nature, CAN overwhelm the fools who are destroying the environment of our Earth. We have begun a movement to do just that.

It’s insane to destroy the planet that you and everyone you love lives on—or to allow others to destroy it.
