we haven’t begun yet and are currently on a race to destroy the Earth, but…
I am not a scientist or an engineer, so what I write here is tentative. Climate scientists (and engineers), not I, have the expertise to create a viable and detailed plan for stabilizing the Earth’s climate, after we have done such unpardonable damage to it.
This is the viewpoint of a very concerned layman. I think you will find it reasonable and interesting nonetheless.
Once the existing “leaders” and systems and rules that are blocking responsible stewardship of the planet are removed, and responsible leaders put into place, we still need to have a plan to save the Earth. Good intentions are not enough. Indeed, probably some, perhaps many, of the current failed leaders have good intentions.
We cannot afford to fail.
So much has been written about how to address the climate crisis, much of it very technical, some of it requiring a large number of difficult to execute precursors to get to the starting line. Indeed, my own view requires only one, but an arguably very difficult precondition to fixing the climate: removing and replacing the current leaders with competent and caring ones. How we do that is the subject of an article I plan to publish in the future. For now, let’s focus on how to repair our abused planet.
