We don’t need more. We need LESS.
We live in a world of plenty. The fools who are destroying the Earth are right about one thing: we produce a lot. Mostly a lot of crap, but a lot nonetheless. We generate plenty.
Of course, the “plenty” is controlled by the 1% — people who produce exactly NONE of it. They order YOU to produce it. And then they make you work for 40+ years, missing out on your entire of life while you toil away for the undeserving rich.
And yet, as the Earth itself turns hostile, and plagues threaten mass death, we simply hope for a return to normal. We despair that life will never be normal again.
Well, normal sucks. Normal is the planet ruled by evil. Normal is a world of cruelty and greed, made bearable by bread and circuses.
We don’t need new and better jobs. We don’t need better leaders. We don’t need tax cuts. We don’t need more benefits for our tax dollars. We don’t need ideas of how to protect the climate, ideas that will never be acted on because authorities want to burn fossil fuels to the last speck.
We need a better world, one in which evil has been ousted, marginalized, and essentially made impotent. We need that world desperately, because the fools in charge are destroying this world.
