While the SCOTUS is making decisions they believe we must honor, we are judging the Court.
I’ve been stating that ordinary people in the United States and everywhere should deeply recognize their commonalities and treat each other as friends. I see this as both a personal and a political act.
Pakistanis and Indians, Arabs and Jews, Ukrainians and Russians — by being friends they can reject the cruelty and violence committed by their governments. We can set an example, and simultaneously speak out against, withdraw our support from, and outright cripple through non-cooperation, any government actions which conflict with our moral position — that all people are simply people; natural allies and friends experiencing essentially the same wondrous and terrifying (and short) existence.
Cruelty is insane. Only kindness, consideration, and love make any sense at all. Imagine two people gouging each others’ eyes out, while sinking in quicksand. This is what humanity is doing. Except in our case, we have set the quicksand trap ourselves, in the form of climate abuse and ecocide.
We need to stop this behavior and stop every institution that protects Earth abuse. This includes the Supreme Court of the United States.
