The challenge of remaking the world while also living a life.
Gandhi referred to his life’s work as “experiments with truth.” Having an over-arching theme for one’s life gives you a purpose and direction, I suppose. But you still need to live day to day — through the normal struggles and tedious routines.
Right now I feel busy, but there are many hours in a day. I believe that, no matter how small, I should be making a real effort every day to fix the world. The climate won’t wait.
Creativity, Passion and Routine
I’m only human. I can’t be creative every day and I can’t live my life with passion every moment. Sometimes (all to often as I get older), I’m tired. I’m uninspired. On days when creativity wanes, I need a routine to make sure the day is lived properly. It’s important to both LIVE your days and do something worthwhile with them.
That means being kind to other people AND working to make the world a better place. That’s tricky because the mind flits and consistency is very challenging for us mere mortals.
Focusing Each Day
Instead of not having any ideas, I usually suffer from having too many to implement. I have trouble even keeping track of what I’d like to do, much less getting them done.
