Actually, the climate crisis IS exactly the kind of crisis that humans DO respond to. But it has been purposely misrepresented.
The climate is NOT changing. It is BEING CHANGED. By people—by people committing evil acts of immorality. They are presenting people everywhere with a moral challenge:
Go along with the deadly ultra-wealthy oil profiteers and destroy Nature and doom your own children (along with those of the oil profiteers and the oil profiteers themselves) OR refuse to cooperate, grind civilization to a halt, and demand an immediate worldwide program led by climate scientists to fix whatever can still be fixed.
But our focus must be taking control and fixing things, not anger and revenge focused on the climate criminals. All great changes were nonviolent yet forceful movements as exemplified by Gandhi, Martin Luther King and others.
WE CAN DO THIS. WE MUST.
