Actually, the climate is wildly out of balance due to our consistent and growing abuse of the Earth.

The "pros" for drilling are woefully insufficient to justify the "cons."

We are destroying our children's planet—fully stop—dooming them to eternal struggle in a post-apocalyptic hellscape.

Sadly, this isn't hyperbole or exaggeration. This is simply the truth.

All the defenses of drilling and continued fossil fuels use are absurd. To live decent lives, people need a habitable planet. They do not need "an economy" or "jobs" and certainly not more corporate profits.

People actually need a healthy Earth, and healthy food, shelter, and—a nice to have we should insist on—medicine and medical care.

At this late date we cannot have a slow orderly transition to clean energy. We chose to spend the last quarter-century with our heads in the sand, EXPANDING the burning of fossil fuels.

That has led us to today's dire situation.

The best we can do now is to quickly and immediately END THE PRODUCTION of all non-necessities, have everyone reduce their labor to produce ONLY necessities.

This has some very positive implications. First, we quickly stop pour gigatons of CO2 and other pollutants into the air, water and soil. Second, people who are now working ONLY to produce necessities have more time—they are only working maybe 10-15% of the hours they work today. Third, nobody struggles because we produce all the necessities needed and give them to everyone—because we aren't soulless barbarians.

Now, some serious permanent damage has already been done. Much of it is irreversible. We cannot undo the crimes we've committed against Nature, and against our own children.

But we can refuse to cooperate with our own destruction, we can take control of events, and we can still create a future that is, on balance, better than the past.

There is a group committed to doing just that. We believe that to knowingly ruin the planet we live on—or to help others ruin it—is literally insane.
