As I recall, the majority of voters rejected Trump as they’ve done every time he ran. Yes, she lost under a system in which the guy rejected by the majority “wins.”

And, yes, identity politics might result in her defeat. Our country is awash in racists and women-haters.

I didn’t pick her, but I think she’s an excellent candidate for a number of reasons:

1. She regularly and forcefully reminds voters of a solid winning position for the Democrats—protection of women’s reproductive rights. The vast majority of Americans oppose the repeal of Roe and the brutal repression of women that Trump and the GOP “successfully” unleashed. This is a powerful issue—and the fury at the GOP over this alone could cause a gigantic blue wave.
2. She cares about the climate more than Biden—who’s record was mixed. The false framing of the climate as an economic issue has muddied it, but the reality of climate collapse is (unfortunately) a daily reminder that Trump’s idiotic position of “drill drill drill” is literally insane.
3. By comparison, she accentuates hold old, feeble and confused Trump is.

So, yeah, she COULD lose. But she’s a great candidate.
