Auntigrav—I feel your "doom." I started out simply wanting to slash C02 emissions, listen to the scientists and hand over a habitable Earth to the next generation.
I thought that this was difficult enough without adding more requirements. But soon I saw that a livable Earth was inseparable from a more humane culture, and world of kinder and more sensible human beings.
I don't believe that people are inherently cruel and selfish, although those attitudes are well within the range of human traits. But we are engulfed in cruelty and selfishness because these attitudes are culturally encouraged and reinforced.
So, yeah, I'm hoping to encourage slashing C02 combined with bringing out the best in human beings, and sidelining evil tendencies. It ain't easy, and it will be very hard to succeed at this. But I gotta try!
