Hey, you woke up this morning and you are alive! What are you gonna do — point fingers or lift people up?

I’m not perfect. I often fail to follow my own advice. But my intentions and actions are, more often than not, on the side I want them to be. It’s really not that hard. Be nice and try to make the world a better place.

Oh, and enjoy NOW. Today. This moment. Because right now you are alive and you won’t always be. Nor will the others, the people around you. As conscious beings, we are — like it or not — the eyes and emotions and thoughts of the universe. We should all revel in that — together.

Let’s look at a story. A true story from some years back. This was a situation that could be handled more than one way.

I’m working at the front desk of a museum. I’m the first person people see when they come in the door. A young guy, tired and sweaty, comes up to me. He’s anxious. He asks me if I know where the Tea Party protest is. I don’t know the answer. The guy is hot and it’s really, really hot outside.

As it turns out, I know something about the Tea Party. I know that they made their first appearance (at least that I know of) a few weeks back in the very building in which I’m sitting.
