This should be a common phrase and the practice of climate abuse should be just as reviled as child abuse. In fact, it IS child abuse.
We need to change the language we use. The systems and culture that currently dominate in the United States and much of the world is toxic. When we use euphemisms like “climate change,” we help the fools who are abusing the planet continue on their deadly greedy course.
The reality is that we are facing climate collapse right now — not in ten years or more — as we can see a third of Pakistan is under water. Yes, that is far from where most of us live, but it is the same planet and we share the same fate. Plus, what kind of sick person doesn’t care about millions of other people who are suffering needlessly because of the stubborn greed and stupidity of a few people in positions of authority, and the clueless indifference of so many of us who go along with them?
I want to popularize the term “climate abuse.” This is short, clear and brutally honest. Putting toxic chemicals into the atmosphere that we KNOW is heating up the planet and causing deadly storms, wildfires, mudslides and heatwaves — and threatens extinction of our species and death of everyone’s progeny in the fairly short term is A BIG DEAL.
Frankly, it’s absurd that we listen to stories about a Queen dying or inflation in the economy. It’s like…
