Climate Abuse is Child Abuse

Deniers, defiers, delayers, do nothings and pro-lifers are committed to abusing everyone’s children

Nearly everyone in a position of power is either actively destroying the climate or strategically going along with its destruction because it’s politically expedient. I am sympathetic to them as human beings — I make mistakes, too — but I would offer no safe harbor to their actions, or worse, their inaction.

Climate abuse is child abuse. Earth is the planet all of our children will inherit. It is incredibly selfish and inhumane for parents to brutalize their children (and their children’s planet) because, well, taking care of them would require some effort and sacrifice.

In a civilized world, when parents are abusive to their children, their children are taken away and put in the hands of people who will take better care of them. But here on our bleeding Earth, the parents keep abusing their children and making lame excuses and promising to do better but never even making an effort to do better. And the children are still endangered.

We need to fix the climate. We cannot continue making excuses, delays or “pragmatic” compromises. Chemistry and physics don’t compromise. There is nothing less realistic than being politically “realistic.” I am particularly galled at so-called pro-lifers who claim to care about the unborn…
