Isn’t it time we retired the people and systems that have failed catastrophically to protect the planet?
Scientists have announced that the dreaded 1.5 degree temperature increase for our Earth is now locked in. We will reach that terrible milestone in 2027.
This announcement follows a announcement a few months back declaring this to be “last call for humanity” and labeling our situation as Code Red.
No politicians or leaders of any sort rang alarm bells. Everyone in a position of authority ignored or made excuses for or claimed they were taking meaningful action — the same lies they’ve been telling since climate scientists first warned them about this crisis decades ago.
The Obvious Step: Fire Them
The coach of the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers fired their coach after failing to get his team past the 2nd round of the playoffs. Nobody thinks that was an outrageous move. The guy in charge didn’t perform well enough so they got rid of him.
What insanity allows our leaders and the systems that support them to continue after such a long unbroken record of catastrophic failure. We aren’t talking about a few bad policies. We are talking about DESTROYING THE HABITABILITY OF THE EARTH despite being given clear warnings…
