Caroline Dennet is a climate hero

There’s so much nonsense and greenwashing and governments setting imaginary targets for 2050. Corporations are pretending to care with various schemes to polish their reputations while poisoning the Earth. The nonsense is drowning out any news about actual climate heroes. I’m here to rectify that.

Some weeks back, a high-level PR official who did work for Shell resigned in a video she posted on LinkedIn. Her name is Caroline Dennett. She’s a climate hero because she put honesty and care for the well-being of our species and our planet ahead of her career. At great personal sacrifice, she gave up her job and spoke plainly and directly about the ongoing threat that her former employer and the entire fossil fuel industry poses to our children and the habitability of the Earth.

She remains active on social media, providing encouragement to others who speak out. If you can be one of them, please do.

We need to celebrate climate heroes often and with great enthusiasm for a number of reasons. First, they deserve praise: the heroes are standing up and do the right things while our “leaders” fail day after day — and those leaders continue to personally thriving as a reward for committing some of the most vile crimes in history.
