COP 28 was a total failure just like the 27 similar meetings that preceded it. After each one, the climate collapse continued. In fact, in recent years the collapse has accelerated.
This is no wonder because all of the pledges, targets, promises and treaties amounted to absolutely nothing. Just talk. The world is producing and burning more fossil fuels than ever. Everything that's been promoted as progress has not made any meaningful impact whatsoever. For example, the growth in the production of clean energy has not resulted in a sharp and quick slashing of fossil fuel use. The latter is STILL INCREASING.
This is THIRTY FIVE YEARS after NASA scientist James Hansen warned Congress and the world publicly about the crisis, and the urgency to slash the use of fossil fuels. Our leaders have done the exact opposite, and continue to expand the use of fossil fuels while simultaneously spouting the hypocritical lies they "announce" at each COP.
No thanks. I'll take reality, the truth, genuine emergency action...and sanity.
