The Broad Vision and Plan
We deeply respect the existing climate movements — the whole range of them. From the approach of lobbying within the system of The Sunrise Movement, to Greta’s Fridays for Future, to Extinction Rebellion and Just Stop Oil — and even sabotage against the machinery of climate destruction. In this emergency, everything that doesn’t target injuring or killing should be tried. And tried repeatedly and with energy.
The idea is to make leaders and the failed systems that have brought us to this dangerous point either listen to and act on the warnings of climate scientists FULLY, COMPLETELY and IMMEDIATELY, or step down in favor of people who will. We are out of patience and, as the IPCC has warned, we are nearly out of time.
It’s now or never for our children. Either WE act, or our children live on a ruined post-apocalyptic Earth. My personal guess is that we will need to completely uproot current leaders and the extractive economic models…
