Dinosaurs weren't as stupid as we are. After all, THEY didn't see the asteroid coming. And they certainly didn't aim the asteroid at themselves.
WE, on the other hand, burn the remains of dinosaurs knowing full well that this will destroy our habitat and doom our civilization. In effect, we are far dumber than giant creatures who had brains the size of a walnut.
