Do you understand the science? If not, why should we pay any attention to your doubts? What do the scientists say? Maybe we should listen to THEM. Also, I absolutely disagree that we should focus on disaster relief TO THE EXCLUSION OF TAKING IMMEDIATE AND SERIOUS CLIMATE ACTION.
In all the decades since scientists issued their warning, telling us to slash fossil fuels or suffer the consequences, we've heard an endless stream of excuses. I guess "concentrate on disaster relief" is just the latest.
But stronger and more frequent disasters—as scientists —have appeared. Climate collapse is getting dangerously close. More delay is unforgivable. We know what we must do. We know the consequences of failure to act.
To do nothing, or to actually support the ruining of our children's planet before they grow up would be an abysmal mistake.
It would be insane.
