It’s the Trump voters who need to explain why they elected a rapist, and convicted criminal and a traitor who incited a violent insurrection.
Some are saying that Democrats and Harris voters need to have a moment of self-reflection, and to understand what they did wrong.
What, exactly, did they do wrong? They offered an alternative to fascism, to a violent narcissist bent on revenge against those who don’t support his cruelty. Now, admittedly, Kamala Harris and the current slate of Democrats are no better (or worse) than their recent predecessors. They are too cozy with plutocrats, and they share many shortcomings with nearly all politicians of both major parties.
BUT, Donald Trump is a violent fascist ready to make war against his own people. He is immensely worse than recent politicians of the Democratic or Republican Party. Compare what he is to, say, John McCain or Barak Obama or Mitt Romney.
It’s like comparing Gorbachev to Hitler. Don’t tell me they are all the same.
