Electric cars are not the solution but they potentially are a part of the solution.

Producing ANYTHING right now emits C02 because we are still using fossil fuel plants to produce energy. We need to fix this at the energy production level—at which point, electric cars WILL help.

Also, gasoline powered cars will ALWAYS be a big problem until we get rid of them.

So, let's close down every fossil fuel plant, replace ALL energy production with solar, wind and the like. THEN, we are on to something. And yes, in THAT context, electric cars are much, much better than gasoline powered cars.

Personally, I don't own a car and never have owned one.
