Engineers and scientists are reality-based people—and they can make a genuine contribution. But business leaders—even when they are genuinely nice people—operate within a system requiring them to maximize profits. And it's always more profitable to destroy the climate than to protect it.

Be wary of Nike—or any business—who claims to be tackling the climate crisis. The people who solve it will be people who are motivated by caring, not by profit.

YOU are very likely a bigger part of the solution to the climate crisis than the whole Nike executive team.

Keep in mind: in 2024. We've known about this crisis for many, many decades. Business and political leaders have never taken any meaningful steps to prevent climate collapse. Even those who probably genuinely care—like president Biden—expand oil production, in his case opening up huge swaths of pristine Alaskan wilderness to drilling b y ConocoPhillips.

A very smart non-violent and strategic activism is required here. The same way that Gandhi and his followers ousted the British from India, we can stop Big Oil from destroying the habitability of our planet.
