It won’t kill me. Really. Probably.

My doctor tells me that I am now pre-diabetic. I need to make some changes. I’ve got to cut down on carbs and sweets.

Oh, and I need to exercise.

Now, I walk a lot and I used to exercise…some. The minimal amount to have energy and some strength. That was always a stop and go thing. I’m not athletic. I’m a thoughtful daydreaming introvert.

But I always want to do the right thing, and exercise is (supposedly) the most important part of my “new routine.”

Well, so far, it’s not a routine. It’s a struggle.

My trick, in the past, to get exercising was to start slow and easy. And that’s what I’m trying now. But nothing seems to be slow or easy enough.

Stubborn

Still, I’m doing it. As you may know (if you read my writing), I can be stubborn. I’m not a fool, but if something is important enough and if it’s doable — well, I nearly always get it done.

Nearly always.

I love espresso and quit it for three months — with no headaches or withdrawal symptoms. I did it cold.

I wanted to learn piano and I now practice like a demon. (I’m still no damn good, but I put in the effort.)
