And they deserve to.
The people we hire as public servants are actually behaving like PRIVATE servants. They take money from wealthy people from Wall Street, from Big Oil, from Big Pharma and other private interests and serve THEM instead of US.
We all know this. We all know about K Street and lobbyists and Citizen’s United. We know that the official institutions and systems of the United States are a cruel fraud.
But somehow we ignore this because we dutifully focus on what media — mostly corporate media — decides to focus on. This has worked very successfully for a very long time to control us, allowing the corrupt businesses and government officials to keep hold of power and keep abusing it — and abusing us.
Without our active cooperation, these institutions and the corruption and evil they represent would collapse. Here’s the news: our active cooperation is ending and those evil institutions and their leaders are drawing to a close.
This happens from time to time. Every authority, every empire seems to be and wants you to believe that they are all-powerful and essentially immortal. But every single one of them has fallen or will fall. The time of corporatism and plutocracy and totalitarian fascism is ending. And it will end EVERYWHERE.
