Who should be on the defensive? Insurrectionists, liars, thugs, and dictator wannabes.

I live in a nation of immigrants. Except for a small number of actual native people, everyone is from some other part of the world.

I’m an American.

As an American, I’m ashamed of what our forefathers did to the people who were here first, decimating the Native Americans. But I’m proud, to the degree that they did so, that they welcomed immigrants from every part of the world. Of course, they did this imperfectly and it seems that each wave of immigrants hated the next wave.

We have never had an easy time of it, but millions and millions of Americans have learned to live with and befriend their neighbors and countrymen.

Some haven’t. There may be something like 75 million paranoid Americans, most of whom call themselves Christians, and yet fiercely repudiate Jesus Himself by hating their neighbors.

It Wasn’t Immigrants

It wasn’t immigrants, legal or otherwise, who violently stormed the Capitol at the behest of Donald Trump, seeking to block the peaceful transition of power following an election that Trump lost.
