For whatever reason, it appears that people are leaving their jobs in record numbers and employers have an unusually large number of infilled jobs.

Does it “make sense” that people are leaving their jobs or the work force in record numbers? Maybe. Maybe not. But these people are somehow leaving their jobs in record numbers—they aren’t getting fired.

I think The Great Resignation is an appropriate name.
