From what I see, he's much nicer and much less crazy than your average vaccine denier. He's clearly sincere and NOT stupid. But he's mistaken.

I say this even though I share similar biases to him—I don't trust giant corporations, including pharma companies.

That said, I believe he's misunderstanding the science and how trials and testing, and especially statistics works.

He also tells interesting stories! I liked the story about chatting with Castro and hearing that, in his final year, Castro was spending a lot of time on the Internet. This story compresses history—hey, RFK, Jr. had a couple of crises over Cuba and Castro! (I really loved the 1990s conference of surviving people who were involved in the Cuban Missile Crisis, who discussed what they were REALLY thinking at each stage of that situation; helps historians, too!)

Although I disagree with RFK, Jr. on vaccines (still), that's not why I'm not voting for him. I'm voting for Biden, who I like as a person but STRONGLY disagree with his climate policies (too little, too late and STILL supporting oil companies...perhaps as a comprise,, but the result is the same) BECAUSE I believe Trump is so significantly worse that he must be stopped.

My personal approach to all this is, WHOEVER gets elected, I'm pretty certain that through existing systems—in America plutocracy, in the middle east, oil sheiks, elsewhere your average despot—the climate crisis will continue and finish us off.

So, I will oppose the American government and pretty much every government of Earth, as inadequate at best, and in most cases hostile to the biosphere. I will work OUTSIDE all the systems, mobilizing sane and caring people everywhere to stop the destruction through strategic non-cooperation. Our group, The Saners, also plans to recruit climate scientists and others to create a Worldwide Emergency Program to prevent climate collapse. And we will have a cultural aspect as well—to bring out the better angels of our nature through a relentless stream of kindness—even to our opponents.

It's a lot to take in, and probably makes me sound crazier than you probably believed I perceived RFK, Jr. to be.

But, you know, it's literally insane to knowingly destroy the planet we, and everyone we love, lives on. So, ordinary sane and caring people need to seize the initiative and refuse to support the destruction of our children's Earth.
