Blue No Matter Who is ridiculous — who wants to “win” a dying planet?

I like Joe Biden. I really do. I voted for him. Yes, he’s not Donald Trump which is, in itself, a (relatively) lovely thing. I also believe Joe is a genuinely nice man — which is important to me.

We all should be nicer.

But we are in a deadly crisis and that crisis is accelerating and will soon reach the point of no return. We have a planet to save. Joe isn’t doing the job. I don’t want anything bad to happen to Joe. I’m not mad at Joe. I’m simply telling the truth.

The much heralded Inflation Reduction Act is the closest the United States government has ever come to making a serious effort to protect the climate. It’s a piss poor effort — it gives big gifts to the petroleum profiteers who are ruining our Earth out of petty greed — but the bill has some good things in it. Whatever the shortcomings in this bill, it’s pretty much the best the United States government can do.

That’s the problem.
