Hey, Leaders! How Is It That YOU Aren’t Embarrassed?

I’m not the least embarrassed to fight to prevent climate collapse. Those who defend the march to oblivion need some introspection.

We are supposed to be uncomfortable or embarrassed and NOT say or do things that aren’t within the mainstream. I find this impossible because the mainstream is, quite literally, insane.

We live in a society and civilization that is literally destroying the habitability of the Earth. We are supposed to go along quietly, and pretend that existing leaders and systems will take care of the problem. When it’s quite obvious that they are doing no such thing.

We’ve had 28 annual international conferences on the climate. They have accomplished absolutely nothing. We were publicly warned in 1988 (and many other times both before and since) that it’s URGENT that we quickly and sharply slash CO2 emissions. Leaders everywhere not only failed to take that absolutely required action, but they made excuses and DID THE EXACT OPPOSITE.

This is true of Western Democracies, as well as non-democratic governments like China, and Russia and Saudi Arabia. This is true of nearly every government, and this failure has been going on consistently for decades, if not centuries. We can all see it.
