What you describe is quite accurate. The upshot is this: we must either disobey and dismantle the systems and policies that are in place, or die.
Climate scientists—people who KNOW things—have described our situation at Code Red and call the current situation "last call for humanity."
We are in big trouble and have no time for politics or "pragmatism."
Change from the bottom up is not impossible. It happened in Czechoslovakia, in Romania, in the old Soviet Union. Ordinary people dislodge dictators everywhere—Tunisia, Egypt...anywhere and everywhere.
This is what WE must do NOW worldwide. We need climate scientists in charge of climate/energy policy. We need young climate activists—people who will inherit this ruined Earth—in positions of authority. We need responsible caring people—ONLY responsible caring people—in charge.
We can do this.
