Hmmm. I've been hearing the exact opposite. I've been hearing that the left is too nice, and therefore weak. That this ridiculous niceness is why they lose to bare knuckled opponents like Trump. Haven't you seen the sign EVERYWHERE with the core leftist slogans?
WE BELIEVE
Black Lives Matter
No human is illegal
Love is Love
Women's rights are human rights
Science is real
Water is life
Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.
The knock I've been hearing about leftists is that their overly nice philosophy is like living in a fantasyland and that they need to be mean, tough and unrelenting to defeat their angry and violent opponents.
I mean, can you even imagine today's leftists occupying Congress? I sure can't.
Now, my philosophy and viewpoint can't be defined by left or right, but I do think that the left is nice and the right is cruel—and violent. And the right sees that as simple realism—that threats and anger and violence is pragmatic, the way to win.
Now, my group, The Saners, is dedicated to nonviolent noncooperation to to disempower those who are ruining our biosphere and using people as Human Resources—OUR group values LIFE and OUR EARTH. We think that those who focus on money and power and, well, selfishness and greed are on the wrong track.
But we want everyone, included our (nominal) opponents to live life fully in peace along with us; we don't think they really want to turn the Earth into a nightmarish hellhole and doom their own children and grandchildren. And we won't hold grudges.
Some of you will think this is nonsense, but some may find The Saners way to be appealing, to feel right. If so, read about us at WeAreSaners.org and consider joining the group.
Thank you.
