And why my opponents are NOT my enemies
My enemy is the destruction of Nature, the abuse of the planet, the activities that will doom our children’s future — and our species.
While it’s true that I speak out against oil executives, Wall Street bankers, and politicians who take money from lobbyists, they are not my enemies.
I oppose — fiercely — many of their activities. But they are ultimately just human beings, like myself. And they are caught up in folly and foolishness. I can say the same of myself — I, too, make some dreadful mistakes.
My opponents are not my enemies. In fact, it is one of my goals to make them my future friends. Because I believe once they understand — deeply understand what they are doing, the true effects on themselves and their loved ones — they will stop and join us.
And I will welcome them.
