Most of us are busy trying to be successful with money and, perhaps, reputation. But we don’t even try to succeed as humans. We don’t know what that means.
Life is puzzling but lots of people are ready to hand you an instruction book. You can follow Jesus, or Money, or Fame. Really, when you do this, you follow other people who tell you how to live. This kind of works for the people selling the instruction books — they make money from you and perhaps also experience some fame.
But all of this is a distraction from actually living as a human being. To live daily as a human being, well, THAT is a success. But you don’t know what I mean by that, do you?
The first thing to know is don’t follow me. I don’t have any special powers and I can’t guide you. What I can do is offer you a new perspective, one that’s easy to see but hard to live. This perspective may or may not mean something to you. If it does, you may try to change your ways, the way you think and the way you live.
I can only tell you that this perspective has worked for me. Well, partially. My life is better and more meaningful than it ever was before. I usually look forward to each day when I wake up. I actually live my days — well, parts of them.
