I agree. Frankly, I think the nation-state is what's killing us. We need sane, caring people who lead by moral force, not physical force. I believe this can happen.

The importance of pointing out good behavior by leaders who also do very bad things is to point out that human nature is complex. Many would have us give up in advance, telling us that people are stupid and evil and that's all there is to it.

People can do good things and bad things—we need to ensure that much more good happens and that much less bad behavior is tolerated.
