I agree. I started out with the idea, let's just do what the scientists say no matter how hard it is, because it's absolutely necessary. Then I started looking at the obstacles that prevents us from doing this. The biggest blockages are the systems that depend on fossil fuels. That's capitalism (in practice, plutocracy), but also whatever systems operate in Saudi Arabia, India, China, Russia, Europe...nearly everywhere.

The entire world needs to be operating on an emergency basis—like a slow moving but deadly asteroid is heading our way. Whatever systems, rules or traditions get in the way must be scrapped, set aside or disobeyed.

I just want this problem fixed, If we could fix it within existing systems—even though I'm not a fan of those systems—and that would be faster, I'd say "let's do that." But I can't see how it's possible for us to save the biosphere with petro-plutocracy and petro-dictatorships in charge around the world.
