I agree that even small shareholder should have rights but Exxon won't pay attention to anything except maximizing profits. I'd advise not worrying about the small stuff.

Our lives are finite. I'd concentrate on enjoying each day, being a positive influence on on others, and on doing what you can to make the world better place.

Of course, I'm partial to encouraging people to join The Saners Movement, and be active. But whatever positive actions you choose would be fine!
