I am not religious at all. But maybe I’m a Jeffersonian Christian. Jefferson revised the Bible, removing all the supernatural stuff.
But “love one another” and “hate the sin, love the sinner” is good and profound advice.
I feel anger at people who do immensely bad things—the oil CEOs who are destroying the climate, for example. I want them stopped and I want them to be held fully responsible.
But I also want to save their grandchildren (and everyone else’s) from the hell these people have unleashed.
I want them to change their ways and find the better angels of their Nature. I don’t want revenge. I don’t want them to suffer.
I want them to get dogs, walk them, take care of them and from the canine example, rediscover love and happiness.
