I appreciate your thoughts on this. I would like to believe their is hope in this meeting. But I don’t. This is the 26th meeting and C02 is still going up. This is the 26th meeting and the International Monetary Fund reports that in 2020 alone, the fossil fuel industry received $5.9 TRILLION in subsidies—in that one year alone. This is the 26th meeting and our so-called leaders continue to take money from the wealthy—certainly here in the United States our “leaders” are simply hirelings of plutocrats.

So, I can’t take this meeting seriously in any way. And I am fully aware that whatever is announced are just more words, like the “success” of some previous meetings.

I certainly believe there are some sincere people at these meetings. The Paris Agreement did sound promising. But nothing really came of it. There is absolutely no sense of urgency.

If an asteroid were hurling toward Earth and there was a meeting to discuss possibly deflecting it sometime in the future and nothing was done in 26 years except for announcements, I wouldn’t be listening to the discussions on the 26th meeting. I’d know it was bull crap.
