I don’t believe that Just Stop Oil is effective. ButI won’t waste energy on infighting—especially fighting with people who have demonstrated such strong moral courage.

In fact, I want them to continue. I want to encourage them. I want them to test and try other tactics. Right now, they are flawed heroes, but heroes nonetheless.

I have my own approach and I’m developing different tactics. There’s room for a multiplicity of efforts and tactics.

Just Stop Oil is NOT a “fake left.” Whatever their shortcomings, they are willing to get arrested and jailed for their convictions. Their sincerity and passion and dedication is real. Even if we choose different approaches (as I have), we should not dismiss what Just Stop Oil is trying to do.

We should set an example, using our own moral courage, to personally and directly challenge the people and systems that are cooking our planet.
