I don't believe that simply transitioning to alternate energy over the next few years is anywhere near sufficient to meet the crisis. It's too late for that. We should have been working on that at breakneck speed starting in the year 2000 at the latest.

We now need to simply slash production, produce NO crap, and limit production (and work!) to making healthy food, medicine, shelter and the like. ONLY necessities.

That said, this vehicle IS an example of the kind of imagination required to meet future needs. Why in hell would we need or want 2,000 pound vehicles—expensive ones that we LEAVE ON THE STREET—to get around?

That this electric vehicle is small and lightweight is at least sensible and shows some original thinking.
