I don't oppose that "Our purchases need to be few and aligned with our values."
However, we need to do MUCH MORE to end fossil fuels and other climate destroying issues at the source—by ending fossil fuel production.
Think about the ozone hole issue and how this was (somewhat) solved.
The ozone hole was getting bigger and more deadly because of the use of Freon (in air conditioners, etc.) and aerosols (in hairspray, etc.) We didn't demand that people stop using air conditioning and hairspray. WE BANNED THE PRODUCTS AND REPLACED THEM WITH SAFER SUBSTITUTES.
We could have waited FOREVER to change the individual behaviors of billions of individual people. We'd still be waiting today.
Stopping production of oil at the source is essential. And WE CAN FORCE THIS CHANGE.
