I don’t share your optimism about the climate. Knowledge of the climate crisis goes back much further than you realize. An oil company internal memo shows that their own scientists recognized the problem in the 1970s.

And political leaders were clearly warned by a NASA scientist very publicly in the 1980s.

Nothing was done. And even today fossil fuel usage continues to GROW.

We had time for a difficult but orderly transition to clean energy if we started in the 1980s. Now it will be painful and ugly, if we do anything at all. Which I believe, won’t happen under current leaders and systems.

I believe ordinary people can and must stand up and demand change and go beyond what’s “permitted.” It’s the only hope for our children and the Earth we love.
