I don't think people will be driving in 2050. Either we have slashed C02 emissions and ended unnecessary things like 2 thousand pound motorized vehicle to carry 150 pound humans—or we will be dead.
I believe that the "civilization" of extraction and endless growth—powered by greed and blindness to Nature—will no longer exist. I believe that more than one billion people will rise up—soon—and peacefully seize power from those who are poisoning the planet.
I believe this will happen, in part, because I will personally take action to force this change. You can, too.
