I don’t think the author is on the same planet as me. Our incomes have been stagnant for decades. If our incomes kept up, we wouldn’t be struggling. This alleged inflation, real or imagined, doesn’t help us without actually getting a living wage.

As far as inflation is concerned, the (as yet unfounded despite this clever rhetoric) fear of inflation has been the excuse for trying to cut any benefits ordinary people might get from their government. We always can’t afford to give taxpayers benefits for their money, but we have infinite money for wars and tax cuts for the wealthy. This theoretical inflation fear plays into this discredited ploy by the ruling class.
