I don’t think the Bible is hard to understand at all. Jesus, for the most part, spoke clearly and directly. Even his parables aren’t mysterious. Love one another. Love your enemies. Feed the hungry. Heal the sick. Care for the poor. Be kind to foreigners and strangers. (Good Samaritan.)

That’s plenty right there to absorb and internalize and to try to learn. We should get THAT first and THEN worry about the details.
