I dunno. It takes a long time to get a new nuclear plant online. And they are very dangerous and humans seem to be bad at operating them.

I’ll also note we are still subsidizing fossil fuels—the IMF reports that the industry got $5.9 TRILLION in subsidies in the year 2020 alone.

And we haven’t put in nearly enough effort on solar, wind and other renewables. It’s like we don’t care.

Finally, while it may fizzle yet again, fusion is showing signs of breakthroughs.

So, yeah, maybe nuclear can be part of the mix. By it’s all nonsense until we stop subsidizing fossil fuels and dismantle that whole deadly operation.
