A relatively small number of us can release a huge wave of compassion worldwide. I believe that there is a great deal of LATENT compassion in people everywhere.

But people are attuned to the societies they live in. They don’t want to make waves. That watch others as role models and notice what is punished and what is rewarded.

We live in a sick society that rewards and lionizes selfishness and greed. This same society treats kindness and caring as naive and weak.

We will be stuck in this situation unless some people boldly disobey the culture and smash the pattern with a radical and very public ongoing display of genuine compassion.

I think this is doable and can have a transformative effect. In fact, now as our ecosphere is collapsing from the incredibly stupid climate abuse sanctified and supported by leaders in nearly every country and under nearly every system—from authoritarians, to theocrats, to plutocrats — it is essential that we withdraw our support from this cruel insanity.

We now have a movement dedicated to compassion, to stabilizing the climate as a moral responsibility to our children, and building a sustainable and caring society to replace the insanity going on now.
