I gotta tell you, I’d vote for anybody to defeat Trump. I don’t demand perfection. The candidate has to clear the very low bar of being better than Trump.

That’s a low bar.

And yet I’m more pleased with Harris than I initially expected. (And yeah, I disagree with her on some things, but with Satan heading the GOP ticket, I don’t require a purity test.)

First of all, Harris can forcefully and articulate the position of rightfully furious women who are hopping mad at Trump and the GOP for repealing Roe.

For women (and for men who respect women—and those who don’t I don’t think of as men), this isn’t old news or a peripheral issue.

Harris could win the election in a blue wave on this issue alone.

But there’s more.

She’s young, healthy, sharp and NOT a narcissistic pompous ass. She’s neither a felon, nor a racist.

She’s everything Trump isn’t and I think that will win a lot of votes. Who do you want—the vibrant engaged living human being? Or the bumbling confused and always angry fat orange fossil?

Finally—and to me, the most important, Harris is far better on the climate crisis.

If Trump wins, he gets to rule a dying planet—and accelerate the climate collapse, dooming everyone’s children.

In contrast to Trump’s literally insane position of “drill drill drill”, Harris has a keen awareness of this crisis and has spoken out against fracking.

For some reason this is supposed to be a brave position. I guess some voters are crazy enough that they’d fry their own children over an open pit because they think it’s good for the economy.

But those voters are insane.

I’m with The Saners. We are audacious enough to NOT COOPERATE with any laws, rules, norms, or policies that are destroying the habitability of our planet. Nor will we support any system that is built of greed and power lust as the underlying values. We favor love, compassion and respect.
