I lived a few years in Raleigh, NC growing up. Since it's a city, it's considered "liberal" in that state. The people and the government there is sane. Except the state government (okay, the Governor is good) which is, well, like the government of a slave state. The state legislature is abysmal.

I considered donating one of my historic space artifacts to the state science museum in Raleigh, but decided not to after I realized they banned trans people from using the bathroom.
