I love Medium. But I may not always love Medium. Like nearly all social media, I expect something bad to happen and for it to be ruined.

But right now, I love it! I feel the same about Bluesky. I quit X, which in my view is like wading in a cesspool, and have found Bluesky—like Medium—to be largely benevolent and interesting.

Because I don't think it's a good idea to be dependent on others—even the best platforms aren't really here primary to serve its users—I have my own site, my own blog, my own video channel (on YouTube, but ready to be moved elsewhere if needed), and my own podcast (currently on pause).

Today, Medium and Bluesky are lovely. Let's get while the getting is good!
