I mean to disparage the efforts made to fight climate change. Our leaders were warned decades ago—most notably by James Hansen’s testimony before Congress in 1988—to sharply slash fossil fuels and CO2 emissions, and year after year they DID THE EXACT OPPOSITE.

They are stupid and/or evil and/or incompetent. We should forcibly retire them all. They and the economic and political systems—mostly plutocracy—are absolute and dismal failures.

WE need to demand immediately that climate scientists—along with appropriately concerned young people who will inherit this ruined Earth—be put in charge of a worldwide emergency program to save whatever can be saved of this grievously damaged planet.
